Partner terms
The deal, plainly
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 18 August 2026
You signed up as a Polajoy partner and we gave you a code. This page is the whole arrangement: what you earn, how it is worked out, when you are paid, and the handful of rules that keep it fair between partners. Taking a code means accepting these terms.
There are two kinds of partner and the difference is only in how you are paid. Photographers earn a share of what a wedding orders. Planners are paid a flat fee for each wedding that signs up. Everything else on this page applies to both.
1. Your code, and one code per wedding
- You get one code. Give it to whoever you like. There is no limit on how many couples use it and no cost to you at any point.
- A wedding carries one code, and the first one entered wins. Whichever code a couple types when they set their wedding up is the one that sticks. Anything entered afterwards is refused, by the software, not by us deciding between you.
- We do not split a wedding between partners, move it later, or backdate it. This is deliberate: a wedding pays one share, so if we allowed two we would be paying twice for the same sales.
- A couple who is already on our Paid Host Programme, or who came to us through someone else's referral, cannot also be attributed to your code. Same reason.
- If a couple genuinely meant to use your code and something went wrong, tell us and we will look at it. We would rather fix an honest mistake than stand behind a rule.
2. What a photographer earns
- 10% in cash of qualifying sales from each wedding attributed to your code. Founding partners are locked to 15%, and that rate never drops for you, whatever we change later.
- For 45 days, starting on the wedding day itself.
- Bought by anyone. The couple, their guests, their families, anyone ordering from that wedding's gallery. It is not limited to what the couple buys.
- Counted net. Delivery, refunds, gift cards and any part of an order paid with store credit do not count. Pre-wedding kits are outside the window and earn nothing.
- Your rate is fixed when you sign up and recorded against each wedding when its code is entered, so a later change to the programme cannot reach back and alter a wedding you have already brought in.
3. What a planner is paid
- A flat fee for each wedding that sets up on your code, agreed with you in writing before it is owed.
- It does not depend on what the wedding orders. If they buy a great deal, the fee is the same. If they buy nothing at all, the fee is still owed. That is the whole point of it being flat, and it is why there is nothing for you to chase a client about.
- The fee is per wedding, not per couple you speak to. It becomes payable once that wedding has actually taken place.
4. When and how you are paid
- By bank transfer, to an account in your name or your business's name. We ask for the details at payout time and never before.
- For a photographer, one payout per wedding after its 45-day window closes, not rolling payments during it. You can watch the total build in the meantime and we will tell you when it is ready.
- For a planner, after the wedding has taken place.
- We check for refunds before confirming a figure, so a sale that was refunded after the fact does not sit in your total.
5. Being straight with each other
- Real weddings only. The arrangement pays on genuine purchases by real people at a real wedding. Orders placed to inflate a total and then refunded, or made with disputed payment methods, do not count. Manufacturing sales ends your place and any unpaid amount.
- Do not promise things we have not said. Describe Polajoy as it is. Do not tell a couple something is included, free, guaranteed or discounted unless it is.
- You are not us. Do not present yourself as Polajoy, use our branding as your own, run ads on our name, or set up anything that looks like an official Polajoy page.
- What you tell your clients is up to you. There is no requirement to disclose that you earn from this, and no requirement to hide it. That is between you and them.
- We can pause or end a code for any of the above, and will tell you why. Anything genuinely earned before that is still paid.
6. Tax
What you earn here is your income and your responsibility to declare. We do not deduct tax and we are not your employer. If you are VAT-registered, tell us at payout and we will handle it correctly.
7. What this is not
This is not employment, a partnership in the legal sense, or an exclusive arrangement. You are free to work with anyone else, including anyone who does something similar. There is nothing to sign beyond this, no minimum, no target, and no obligation to bring us a single wedding. If you never use your code, nothing happens and you owe us nothing.
8. Our side of it
- We tell you what a wedding on your code has earned, and what we are paying, before we pay it.
- We do not change your rate or your agreed fee without telling you first, and never for a wedding already on your code.
- Your details stay ours. We do not sell them, and we do not pass a couple's details to you or yours to a couple without asking.
- If we end the programme, weddings already attributed to you are seen through to the end of their window and paid as normal.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change this page we will tell active partners by email, and the change applies from then on. It never reaches back to a wedding already attributed to your code. The version and date at the top say which set you are looking at.
10. The boring-but-important bit
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If something here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Questions, or anything that does not look right on your account: hello@polajoy.app, and a real person will read it.
